What it covers

Source: West Virginia Insurance Supplement - Examination Content Outlines, Effective: June 16, 2026 (Pearson VUE publication #124901; running head "Effective Date: June 16, 2026"). West Virginia sells three Property & Casualty producer exams (InsWV-Prop30 WV Property, InsWV-Cas40 WV Casualty, InsWV-PC03 WV Property and Casualty) and each is a GENERAL KNOWLEDGE outline plus a WEST VIRGINIA SPECIFIC outline; the combined exam prints TWO general-knowledge outlines, Property and Casualty, plus one state-law outline, so seven sections are recorded. The combined exam's general-knowledge outlines are word-for-word the outlines used by the single-line exams; they are recorded separately because they belong to a different exam with a different state-law outline. Counts are the outlines' own scoreable-question figures, stated separately from their pretest questions. PUBLISHER DEFECT PRESERVED: in the PROPERTY & CASUALTY combined exam's PROPERTY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE outline, area I's lettered sub-topics are printed V, W, X, Y, Z, AA instead of A, B, C, D, E, F -- a lettered list that continued instead of restarting. The titles are identical to the single Property outline's A-F. The printed labels are kept, per the rule that the publisher's codes are copied rather than corrected, so those codes read I.V, I.W, I.X, I.Y, I.Z, I.AA. Note that 'V.Homeowners' and 'X.Commercial lines' are sub-topics, NOT areas V and X. WEST VIRGINIA ALSO PRINTS A SCOREABLE-QUESTION COUNT OR RANGE ON EACH LETTERED SUB-TOPIC of the state-law outlines (e.g. 'Insurance Commissioner ... 2', 'Malpractice Policies ... 0-1'). The schema carries weights only on top-level areas, so, following taxonomy/life-health/wv.json built from this same document, those figures are kept inside the sub-topic title after the outline's dot leaders rather than dropped. Each WEST VIRGINIA SPECIFIC outline opens with 'Ref: All references below are taken from the West Virginia Code and/or the West Virginia Code of State Rules', so a statutoryRef like '33-12-6' is W. Va. Code 33-12-6 and 'Rule 114-8-1' is a Code of State Rules citation. EXTRACTION NOTE, as recorded in this document's manifest entry: the PDF emits each page's header block (state name, exam title, 'CONTENT OUTLINE', effective date, page label) AFTER the body text of the page it belongs to, so those lines interleave with the outline and were excluded by exact match; the extraction also drops the space after some labels ('A.Insurance Commissioner') and breaks words mid-token across lines ('unauthor' / 'ized companies'), which is why some titles read oddly. Those are extraction artefacts of the committed text, not readings of a different document. HANDBOOK DISAGREEMENT, recorded not reconciled: wv-pearsonvue-handbook's exam table gives WV Property 90, WV Casualty 90, WV Property and Casualty 150 and WV Personal Lines 120 questions, while the outlines total 85, 85, 158 and 118 including their stated pretest questions. The outlines' scored figures are used here. (West Virginia Insurance Content Outlines). Confirm current weights with the testing company before you book.
