Proof of Loss

Also known as: Sworn Statement in Proof of Loss

A formal sworn document submitted by an insured to the insurer providing specific details of the damages, property value, encumbrances, and cause of loss within a required timeframe.

“The insured must submit within sixty days after the loss a signed, sworn proof of loss stating knowledge and belief as to the time and origin of the loss.”
